Of me and My Friend the Giver

Did you ever notice?
Looking deep within my eyes,
Did you ever stop long enough
to see inside?
Reflecting back, calm collective death resides.
Speckled, spotted, cancerous decay,
From a world on fire,
Deep behind that grey-blue crystal in my eyes.
Behind that enlarged left pupil,
Do you know what that hides?
Eternity of teardrops fall from
eternity of lies
As they grow,
I live,
But am no longer afraid to die.
Cleansed by fire,
Sculpted by the wind,
Nourished by sun,
I rise from the earth,
Coughing out soil from my lungs.
Silent grave unearthed.
Head bowed towards the sun.
Slow stretch.
Yearning for the sun.
Arms outstretched, to water catch,
First breath of oxygen,
babies breath.
Pale and soft.
I have not weathered yet.
Did you ever notice?
I have not weathered yet.
I rise, grow tall, and drop my silver seed,
spun in rhythms, the babies verse,
an epitaph of knowledge cursed.
Never enough to quench the thirst.
More than enough to move heaven and earth.
Did you ever notice?
Did you ever look deep within my eyes?
Within both ultimate peace,
and eternal storm reside.
Behind the teardrops in my eyes.
Blessed you, mortal man.
Blessed you.
Without you I would not live,
and would not die.
Cursed you.
Without your reflection in my eyes,
I might survive.
Ahh...... to guide new life with babies breath,
Nourish silver seed with rhythms blessed.
And possibly unbeknownced to you,
Unless you have looked deep, deep,
within my eyes,
I have barely begun to rise.
